John L. Canapari

Mr. John Lewis Canapari, age 63, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown, SC. He was the devoted husband of Lynda (Leonard) Canapari.

Mr. Canapari was born on December 20, 1949, son of the late John J. and Josephine (Perrella) Canapari. He was a Kennedy High School graduate and a proud U.S. Marine Vietnam Veteran. He worked at Fabricated Metal Products (FMP) for 26 years before moving to South Carolina where he retired as a Supervisor from Loomis Armored Car.

In addition to Lynda, his wife, John is survived by his daughters, Christina Canapari and her fiancé Matthew Kane, and Jennifer Canapari and her boyfriend John LaVallee all of Waterbury and his step-daughter, Melissa Wills and her husband Charles of VA; his granddaughter Alexis Canapari of Waterbury and five step-grandchildren of Virginia. He also leaves behind his brother, Joseph P. Canapari; his sister, Madeleine “Lynn” Bacik and her husband John; and his former wife Mary Canapari-Smith all of Waterbury as well as two nieces and one nephew. He was predeceased by his son, John L. Canapari, Jr. and his sister-in-law, Diane Canapari.

The funeral will be held on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 9:00am from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow Street to Sts. Peter and Paul Church for a Mass at 10:30am. Burial with full military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:00-10:00am.
